Welcome to Season 2019

Posted: March 25, 2019

Welcome to 2019 Cats Supporters!

While 2018 wasn’t our year on the field, we had a good year off the field which has put our Club in a stronger financial position which allows us to confidently look to the future knowing we can continue to provide great facilities, coaches, social program and opportunities for families in our community to be involved in our great game.

In the off-season, our newly appointed Football Director Adam Latemore has done a magnificent job recruiting a number of high quality players to the Club and we are confident of a successful season on the field in 2019. Wayne Weidemann returns as our A Grade Coach for his third season and once again will be joined by his Assistant Coaches, dual Magarey Medalist Damian Squire and Mark Kemp

The numbers on the preseason track are the healthiest they have been for some years as we build towards a successful 2019 season.

In other coaching news, Stuart Callary and Ryan Madden will continue as B grade coaches for 2019. We would like to thank David Jennings for the time and effort he has put into the C grade over the last two seasons. We would also like to welcome current player Ben Gibson as the new C grade coach for 2019. We also thank Tammy and the training staff who on a weekly basis keep our guys prepared for training and games and we are very grateful for the time they put in to helping the club.

As with the start of the year, the committee has continued the amazing efforts to strengthen the club off the field and have been able to sign new major sponsor Kirrihill Wines along with Gold Sponsor Logic Plus, along with maintaining the partnerships we have with our current sponsor from 2018, including James Threadgold Jewellers and Ashby, Madden and Truman Accountants. We thank these, and all, are valued sponsors as without them we cannot survive.

Although the club finds itself being relegated to Division 4, the drive and commitment from the coaches, players and committee to making this year a very successful year for us brings a fantastic sense of positivity and determination. We look forward with great anticipation at what we are able to do both on and off the field for season 2019 and hope you join us in strengthening our club to where we want it to be.
