Welcome to Season 2018!

Posted: January 23, 2018

Welcome to the 2018 seasons Cat fans. We hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year’s break.

This year we are very happy to continue to have A grade Coach Wayne and assistants Damian and Mark lead the club for a second season, this consistency in coaching is always going to help move the club in the right direction. Wayne and his leadership group have been very busy in contacting potential recruits over the summer to fill the gaps we have in the A grade to push us back into Finals for the first time since 2011.

The numbers on the pre-season track have been very positive and it’s great to see the big group of players, both old and new, putting in the hard work to help prepare themselves for the upcoming season. The players know that this extra effort will help them at the pointy end of the season when the crunch comes and a finals chance is on the line.

This year there are several players in line to celebrate some big milestone games which we will, as always, be announcing on our social media pages so please keep an eye out for these announcements. The Netball club has once again filled their full quota of players and will be the largest netball club in Adelaide for another year. A strong football and netball club will continue to further establish Walkerville as the place to be both on and off the field and we are looking forward to another year of great social events.

This year we farewell Matt and Caroline Harvey who have run the kitchen for the last few years and provided great meals for the players and supporters each Thursday and Saturday nights, as well as for the Sportsman’s Lunch and other social events. Matt and Caroline are taking their kids on a trip around Australia this year and we wish them all the best. This does mean we need to find someone new to take over the kitchen duties. If you or someone you know would be interested in taking on this role please get in contact with the club. As a club we continue to be incredibly grateful for the support we have from all our volunteers, supporters and sponsors, without this support we would struggle to keep the club going. We are always looking for further supports and sponsors so please contact the club if you are able to help in anyway.

We are also still looking to fill the B grade coaching position with last year’s coach Scott Prebble taking a role in the RMFL. Please send in your applications to joseph.a.frick@gmail.com if you are interested in the role.

Everyone is excited about this season and we will keep you all updated about our fixtures, social events and all other Walkerville news throughout the season. See you at the Cattery
