From The President – Preseason Report 2015
Hello to all Cats fans and welcome to the 2015 football season.
Footy is only a matter of weeks away and again our A grade will compete in the A2 competition for the sixth consecutive year.
Gary Cook remains at the helm and after an outstanding first year as Senior coach of the club in which our A grade missed the top 5 by 2%.
Cocky will again be ably assisted by Andrew Naff in and Adam Latter more.
Scott Jenkins takes over as our Reserves coach in 2015, whilst Steve Parrish returns as coach of our C grade but this time in a joint role with Matthew Martin.
I would like to welcome former President Joe Frick back onto the committee as Vice President and congratulate new committee members in Luke Westbury, Ben Gibson, Kane Moore, Matthew Harvey and Ryan Gerlach on their appointments for 2015.
A big congratulations to the appointment of our new A grade captain and Walkerville Life member Ryan Madden. If anyone deserved such an honour then Ryan is the man.
The season commences at home against PAOC on April 11th.
Please mark April 25th in your calendar now as we are at home to Broadview on Anzac Day.
This will be a huge day for the club and will coincide with our very first Past Players day for the year. The turnout last year at Broadview on Anzac Day was outstanding so now it’s our turn to host on this very special day please as a Cats supporter make every effort to attend the cattery on April 25.
An ANZAC Medal will again be awarded for the player who displays skill, courage, self-sacrifice, teamwork and fair play. The ANZAC Medal will be awarded directly after the game. There will also be a Medal awarded for the game’s best player, with this presentation and that of the Cup being in the clubrooms.
On behalf of the committee, I wish all of our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters all the very best for a successful 2015 season and look forward to seeing you all at the footy
